After School Leader
We are seeking an energetic, loving, and creative leader for our elementary after school program, The Lions’ Den. This leader will work with a teammate to guide our students through snack time, recreation time, and completion of any assigned homework. The leader we select will have a considerable amount of freedom, with their teammate, in determining the structure of each day’s activities.
Days / Hours: Monday - Friday (when school is in session) 2:45 PM - 6:00 PM.
- Current first aid/CPR certification, or willing to obtain this certification (our school will pay for your training).
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must have previous experience working with elementary school aged children.
- Possess basic knowledge and understanding of school aged children.
- Be a self-starter and perform job with little supervision.
- Possess the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Possess the ability to follow written and oral directions.
- Must be punctual, reliable, honest, in good health, have a neat appearance, and a courteous manner.
- Must be willing to complete a one hour online sexual abuse awareness training course
Technology Instructor (part-time)
We are seeking an energetic, creative, technically skilled, part-time technology instructor.
- One visit to DCS per week, teaching three, 45 minute classes per visit (1st – 4th grades).
- Utilizing Code.org curriculum, and teacher supplemental materials, plan and execute clear, creative, and varied lesson plans for each class.
- Meet or exceed Georgia standards for technology instruction.
- Four times per year, prepare student achievement reports.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent marketplace learning.
- 2+ years of experience teaching technology or computer programming, or possess evidence of adequate subject matter expertise.
- Successful experience working with elementary aged children.
- Ability to manage student classroom behavior.
- Be a self-starter and perform job with little supervision.
- The ability to instruct students in these areas:
- Critical thinking skills.
- Foundations of computer programing.
- Simple robotics.
- Laptop use & keyboarding.
- Responsible digital citizenship.
- Google Drive and Microsoft Office products.
This position is a contract worker position (IRS 1099), and is not eligible for benefits.
Elementary Classroom Instructor (full-time)
As our school grows, we are continually looking for energetic, creative, and godly teacher candidates. We believe that the role of the Christian teacher is to demonstrate through philosophy and lifestyle his or her personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a consistent reflection of godly character, a heart to meet the needs of young people, and a mastery of content and delivery of instruction.
