Dunwoody Christian School is dedicated to partnering with parents, believing a healthy relationship between parents and school is vital to the academic, social, and spiritual development of each student. Parents are invited to participate in their child’s education and encouraged to partner with DCS in discovering their student’s unique gifts and abilities.
Parents are encouraged to invest their time, finances, and talents in our school. We invite parents to offer their gifts to support our academics, fine arts, and athletics, and to become involved in collaborations, celebrations, and community relations. You are vital to the success of your child and to our educational community, and we encourage you to participate in the many aspects of school life.
Parents In Action (PIA)
The best way to get involved is to volunteer with DCS Parents In Action (PIA). The PIA is similar to a traditional PTO/PTA program at most schools.
The mission statement of the PIA is “The PIA exists to build community and partner with DCS to support the school’s mission by volunteering our time, talents, and spiritual gifts.”
There are many committees and events that welcome your skills as a parent. PIA committees include:
- Room Parents
- Prayer Team
- DBC Liaison
- Missions
- Community Ambassador
- School Events
- New Family Engagement
- Fundraising
- and more!
Contact our PIA chair, Sarah Newton, to join the PIA.
Family Chapel
Students attend chapel weekly on Thursday mornings by grade. Approximately once per month, all grades come together for chapel as a group. Parents are also invited to join us on campus for “Family Chapel”.
Visit Campus
Our campus is open to parents and visitors. We encourage parents and guardians to contact their child's teacher to organize a time to visit. We have many opportunities, including Mystery Guests, Library Helpers, lunchroom visits, and classroom volunteers.
