Dr. Jeff LeMay, our school's Head of School, has more than 18 years of experience in the Christian school movement. Jeff began his Christian educational career when he was called to be the Life Science teacher at Cumberland Christian Academy, located in Cobb County, Georgia in 2004. After teaching for more than 7 years at Cumberland and another year at Colonial Hills Christian School in Villa Rica, he became a Christian school administrator when he was appointed as the Middle and High school Principal at Harvester Christian Academy (HCA), located in Douglasville, GA. After serving as HCA's High school Principal for two years, Jeff took a year off from work to finish his doctoral dissertation, "The effects of using selective metacognitive strategies on ACT mathematics subtest score." Upon completing his dissertation, Dr. LeMay was hired at Victory World Christian School (VWCS), located in Norcross, GA, where he served for five years as the Head of School before coming to DCS. During his 5-year tenure at VWCS, Jeff helped lead the school to achieve new heights in its academic program while maintaining its reputation as a dedicated Christian school. He is a dedicated life-long learner who loves to read and spend time with his family. Mrs. Fan is an educator who has over ten years of experience teaching elementary, middle, and high school students in both public and private school settings, as well as six years in school administrative leadership. Mrs. Fan began her calling into Christian education at Victory World Christian School where she taught elementary grades for seven years. Within that time, she also pursued and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Emory University. Upon graduation, she was hired at Lilburn Middle School in the Gwinnett County Public School system and taught English language arts for three years. In addition to Mrs. Fan’s teaching experience in elementary and middle school, she has also taught leadership and career studies classes to 9th through 12th grade students at Providence Christian Academy in Lilburn, GA. Her training in using teamwork collaboration and leadership tools from the Giant Worldwide curriculum helped her high school students be more intentional in how they lead themselves and the people around them. Mrs. Fan’s ability to teach and build relationships with students that spanned various ages and grades equipped her for the administrative roles that God would call her into when she returned to Victory World Christian School for the second time. Her knowledge and experience allowed her to serve as the school’s Director of Curriculum and Instruction, International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program Coordinator, and Elementary Principal over the span of six years. In addition to her role as a Christian educator, Mrs. Fan is also a wife and a mother. Mrs. Fan and her husband both graduated from Dunwoody High School and were even married at DBC where Mrs. Fan received Christ and was baptized when she was 15 years old. As an educator, mom, and wife, Mrs. Fan’s greatest joy is to know Christ and to make Him known in each of these roles and beyond. She believes that if you build an excellent education on a Christian foundation, then education has the power to transform the lives of students for generations. She is looking forward to helping students discover God’s unique calling for their lives as the middle school principal and associate head of school at Dunwoody Christian School.
