FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

Each fiscal year, DCS sets aside 10% of every non-designated donated dollar to be used for financial aid. DCS utilizes “FACTS Grant and Aid Management” to provide a financial aid assessment. When your confidential FACTS application is completed, FACTS assesses the financial needs of the applicant, and provides a recommendation to DCS on the level of financial assistance. DCS will weigh very heavily the FACTS scoring and recommendations of each application, but reserves the right to allocate funds based on factors outside of the FACTS process.

If you applied for financial aid prior to Feb 1, 2024:

Financial aid applications were due on Feb. 1, 2024 for the 2024-2025 school year. As of May 1, 2024, all financial aid requests have been processed, and recipients have been notified of their awards, if any.

If you are a new applicant after Feb. 1, 2024:

If you wish to apply for financial aid after Feb. 1, 2024, please contact DCS as soon as possible at info@dunwoodycs.org or 678-327-8181. As of May 1, 2024, no additional financial aid funds are available for the 2024-2025 school year. However, we may be able to assist in other ways. It is also possible that a second round of financial aid funds may become available prior to the start of the school year. So please reach out to us so we can talk through your options.

Applicants for financial assistance of any kind must complete the following steps:

Did you know the state of Georgia gives students free money to attend DCS?
Your child(ren) may be eligible to receive a free scholarship provided by the State of Georgia through the Pay It Forward scholarship program for the 2025-2026 school year (the deadline for the 2024-2025 school year has ended). The scholarships are based on specific criteria, but are not income-based or needs-based. About 70% of DCS students are eligible for a Pay It Forward scholarship.

How much is the scholarship?

DCS does not yet know how much the state will provide to eligible DCS students for the 2025-2026 school year. It will depend on how much is contributed through the tax credit program. However, eligible students at DCS have historically received between $2,000-$3,000 each year, which is applied toward tuition:

  • May 2022 Scholarship: $2,300 per eligible child (for 2022-2023 school year tuition)
  • May 2023 Scholarship: $2,900 per eligible child (for 2023-2024 school year tuition)
  • May 2024 Scholarship: $2,500 per eligible child (for 2024-2025 school year tuition)
  • May 2025 Scholarship: $  TBD per eligible child (for 2025-2026 school year tuition)*
*The scholarship amount for the 2025-2026 school year will be communicated by May 2025.

Who funds the scholarships?
Pay It Forward scholarships are funded by the Georgia Qualified Education Expense (GA QEE) Tax Credit program. Any tax payer in Georgia may participate - it's a great way to benefit DCS students without costing you anything.

DCS is a Georgia Department of Education Special Needs Scholarship Participating School. This means the GA DOE allows IEP and Section 504 eligible students to receive scholarship funding to attend Dunwoody Christian School.
